Booming Accounting Job Market Attracts High School Students To ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Case Competition

Area high school students learned about the benefits of a career in accounting while participating in the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ High School Accounting Case Challenge.

Hosted by the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Department of Accounting, the event brought together 85 students from Kent Theodore Roosevelt High School, North Canton Hoover High School, Aurora High School and Tallmadge High School. The competition was sponsored by The Ohio Society of CPAs, Pease Bell CPAs, Robert Fay, Ernst & Young, Novogradac and RSM.

ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ alumnus Richard Batyko, M.A., ’12, has committed his life and career to making the world, specifically Greater Cleveland, a better place. This year, he and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland (for which he serves as Chief Marketing Officer) are working with ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ advertising and public relations seniors in the capstone class, Campaigns in Advertising and Public Relations, to raise awareness about the organization's mission.

Jason Werstler, a 2001 ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ graduate who majored in education, is one of 25 teachers across the nation who were recently recognized for teaching excellence. He teaches construction at Massillon Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio.
