Donors of 24 Named Spaces in New Crawford Hall

ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Approves 26 Named Spaces in New Crawford Hall in Recognition of $10.7 Million in Philanthropic Gifts

During its regular quarterly meeting held Wednesday, Dec. 15, the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Board of Trustees approved naming resolutions for 17 spaces to be located in the future Crawford Hall based on philanthropic gifts of $100,000 or more. An additional nine named spaces were approved by ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ President Todd Diacon that were below the required Board approval threshold.

Allison Brager, Ph.D. ’11

As a soldier and elite athlete, Dr. Allison Brager is familiar with pushing herself physically and mentally. As an athlete, she was interested in both human performance and sleep, but it wasn’t until she signed up for a course called The Psychology of Sleep that she discovered the connection between the two. Brager earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Brown University in 2007, but she set out to earn a Ph.D. in neuroscience at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ for the chance to work with David Glass, Ph.D., professor of biological sciences and a world leading expert in the field. She is now an Army neuroscientist who studies sleep, particularly in extreme environments and high-stress situations.

The ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ alumni family grew by more than 2,400 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2021 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 17-18.

ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ, which has gained national recognition for its creative and successful Giving Tuesday campaigns, launched its monthlong celebration of philanthropy on Nov. 1. Giving Tuesday, now in its eighth year at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ, has raised nearly $7 million during that time, which illuminates the impact that can be made when Golden Flashes come together.

2021 Distinguished Teaching Award Recipients Announced

The 2021 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) recipients are an outstanding group of teachers who are truly dedicated to their students' success. Sponsored by the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Alumni Association, the DTA is a highly prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching, whether it be in the classroom or online.
