Communicable Disease
Communicable diseases can spread from person to person.
Disease can spread via many routes of transmission, such as airborne, skin-to-skin, and bodily fluid contact.
An endemic is the rapid spread of disease beyond that which would be expected for a given area. A pandemic is a large-scale disease outbreak.

What You Can Do
Prepare before an incident
- Ensure you are enrolled in Flash ALERTS and your contact info is current
 - Wash your hands often
 - Learn how diseases spread
 - Practice good health habits
- Get plenty of sleep.
 - Be physically active.
 - Manage your stress.
 - Drink plenty of fluids.
 - Eat nutritious food.
 
 - Stay up-to-date with appropriate vaccines and boosters
 - Be aware the University may distribute info via web resource and email
 
Respond during the incident
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
 - If you become sick, do not hesitate to contact a medical professional
 - When you are sick, stay home and limit contact with others
 - Ues appropriate disinfectant cleaners, especially in shared spaces
 - Follow other guidance from CDC, Health Department, and KSU
 
Recover after the incident
- Expect updates from KSU and Public Health officials
 - Continue taking protective actions to help prevent the disease from spiking again
