For hundreds of area residents who attended the 2019 Columbiana County Fair, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Columbiana County had its own way of welcoming them to the annual event. A newly landscaped area and signage helped showcase the work of employees from the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Salem Campus who created the space at the Saltwell Road entrance, near by the bridge. Before she attended her first class on campus, ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ freshman Hayley Simons had already acquired broad knowledge of the May 4, 1970, shootings from her father and brother, who are both graduates of the university. ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ’s Columbiana County campuses hosted orientation sessions on each of the two campuses to help welcome new and transfer students for the 2019-20 academic year. Destination ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ, or DKS, was a day-long event for students, parents and family members to learn the ins and outs of being a college student at ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ Salem and ÌÇÐÄVlogÆƽâ°æ East Liverpool.
