Christine Hudak, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been accepted as a contributing author to the book (tentatively) titled The Handbook of Continuing Professional Development for the Health IT Professional, to be published by HIMSS in 2017. Her chapter, “The Many Facets of Continuing Education,” will appear in the section on “The Importance of Lifelong Learning.”

Vlogƽ College of Nursing held its spring undergraduate convocation ceremony at the Kent Student Center Ballroom. More than 750 guests, including 121 graduates, family members, friends, faculty and staff attended.

The 2016 Vlogƽ Golden Flashes have shattered the record for the highest annual grade point average (GPA) in program history. They also broke the record for the most students with a perfect 4.0.

What happens when you throw away your trash? Vlogƽ students produce an average of four pounds of trash per person per week.

The Vlogƽ at Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center 2016-17 season will feature 21 diverse and high-quality performances, including comedy, dance, Broadway shows and additional concerts.

Vlogƽ students and alumni received a Judge’s Choice award, along with two gold and nine silver awards at the 2016 American Advertising Federation of Akron’s (AAF-Akron) ADDY award ceremony, themed “Advertising Abe” in honor of Abraham Lincoln’s birthday.

Vlogƽ celebrated the grand opening of its new Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement on June 3. The 34,400-square-foot center brings the Division of Institutional Advancement together under one roof.
Stina Olafsdottir, university bursar, has been selected to serve on the executive board of the Women’s Network of Ohio (WNO), an affiliate of the American Council on Education (ACE).
Uma Krishnan, Department of English, won an Honorable Mention for the 2016 CCCC James Berlin Memorial Outstanding Dissertation Award on April 8, 2016, during the 2016 CCCC Annual Convention in Houston, Texas.
