Trumbull Students Fill Thanksgiving Bags

ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Trumbull’s Undergraduate Student Government (USG) collected food and money to fill Thanksgiving bags for campus students and families in need. Tanner Noble (President), Ally Phibbs (Vice-President), Brianna Farmer (Treasurer), and Nadia Currence (Treasurer) coordinated the giveaway with help from Nancy Barker, Coordinator for Student Life/USG.  Each family received a frozen turkey and a bag with items such as potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, apple or pumpkin pie, cornbread, dinner rolls, apple sauce, and much more. Sam Zern, a reporter at the Canton Repository, recently wrote about a new partnership between ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ and the University of Rwanda that administrators say is connecting students, faculty and research across oceans. ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ fell short to Northern Illinois in the Golden Flashes' bid for a Mid-American Conference Championship, which would have been their first conference title since 1972. The Huskies led 17-0 early in the second quarter and 24-10 at the end of the third quarter. Senior Quarterback Dustin Crum led an inspired second-half comeback, but Northern Illinois prevailed 41-23 in the Rocket Mortgage MAC Championship game played at Ford Field in Detroit. With smiles and a bit of a swagger, the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Golden Flashes arrived Friday at Ford Field, which is exactly where they expected to be when the season began.  ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ (7-5, 6-2) is set to play Saturday at noon in the Rocket Mortgage Mid-American Conference Championship game. A victory would give the Golden Flashes their first conference championship since 1972. The interruption to ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ at Ashtabula associate lecturer Joan Steidl’s Intro to Human Services class recently was for a good reason, as Dean and Chief Administrative Officer Susan J. Stocker, Ph.D. and many of her colleagues were there to make the surprise announcement of Steidl being a recipient of the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ Outstanding Teaching Award (OTA) for 2020.  Steidl is one of three recipients across the ÌÇÐÄVlogÆÆ½â°æ system for the 2020 year.
